Complete and balanced pet food are those with added vitamins and minerals.  Those without are labeled as food for supplementary feeding only.

Dry Dog Food for Sale in Hong Kong

Dry dog food has many choices, from the traditional dry kibble with grains, the popular grain-free dry kibble to the freeze dried raw diet. Each type of dry dog food has its advantages and disadvantages.

For the traditional dry dog food, you would find meat, some grains (rice, barley, millet, etc), fruits, vegetables, some supplements such as fish oil, flax seed oil, glucosamine, chrondroitin, probiotic in the food. These diets are complete and balanced but tend to have higher carbohydrate content. They are not suitable for dogs that require a low carbohydrate diet. However, these diets are more affordable.

Grain free dry food is similar to traditional kibble but the grains are replaced by potato, sweet potato or tapioca. Grain free diets usually contain more meat than the traditional dog food, and therefore, they have higher protein and fat content and lower in carbohydrate content. Advocates of grain free diet suggest that a high meat (high protein) diet is more suitable for canine's short digestive tract and dogs don't digest grains well. Grain-free diets are also more palatable due to the high meat content. However, they are not suitable for dogs that require restricted protein or fat (e.g. kidney, liver disease, pancreatitis). Grain-free dog food is also more expensive than the traditional kibble with grains.

Raw dry dog food are made with raw ingredients. They may be air dried or freeze dried. These diets are very high in meat content, with very low level of carbohydrates. Raw food retains almost all the nutrients and they are very nutritious and tasty. However, they are also the most expensive.

Under this category, you will find all types of dry dog food, including the dry kibble with grains, the grain-free dog food and the raw dry food.  Wise Pet only carries natural dog food that is made with natural ingredients, without artificial colors, flavors and chemical preservative.

When feeding dry kibble, we also recommend adding canned dog food to the diet to increase nutritional value and palatability of the diet.
